This paper is known in Japan as unryu tairei. The fibers in these papers are longer than in traditional tairei papers but they are made in the same manner, hence the name. Both types of paper have decorative, more visible strands layered on top of the base sheet during the formation process. The name of this paper in Japan literally translates to 'large or high respect' because this paper was used during the ceremony marking the accession to the throne of the Showa Emperor in 1928.
