BagLady - Bead Knitted Handbags 1-Williams

Part # BBS-01-3 - Bead Knitted Handbags 1is the second pattern booklet in the "Beaded Bag Series" and is back in print with a few changes. We have added our popular "Diamonds Are Forever" design and taken out the "Lady's Day" design (The "Lady's Day" design will be posted shortly as a free web site pattern). The book provides the crafter with clear and concise instructions (with color photographs and b&w illustrations) to make three distinctly different beaded knitted handbags (see photos above). Basic knitting and sewing skills are all that are required to make these bags (casting on, basic knit stitch, and binding off). Instructions and diagrams are also included to embellish the bags with ribbon work and silk ribbon embroidery in addition to suggestions on how to embellish the bags with charms, buttons and other mementos. All stitches are very easy and can be learned by any crafter. (48 pages)

The LS50/LS51 frames shown and referenced in the first printing of the book have been replaced by the BL series of frames (may also be marketed with the prefix PF instead of BL). Refer to the purse frame page for our BL series of purse frames.

Supplies needed to make the bags shown above:

• Beyond Garden Variety: 4 hanks of Czech glass seed beads, 2 balls of #8 perle cotton thread, BL50 or BL950 purse frame, one pair of size 0000 (1.25mm) knitting needles. Approximate finished size about 3" across the top, 6" across the bottom, and 6" long.
• Diamonds Are Forever: 6 hanks of size 11 Czech glass seed beads, 2 balls of #8 perle cotton thread, BL50 or BL950 purse frame, one pair of size 0000 (1.25mm) knitting needles. Approximate finished size 5" wide by 5" long.
• Tea Dance: 4-5 hanks of size 11 seed beads, 2 balls of #8 perle cotton thread, 10"x12" fabric for upper portion of bag, embellishments, drawstring, one pair of size 0000 (1.25mm) knitting needles. Approximate finished size about 5.4" wide by 9" long.
