Side-to-Side Dickey Pattern

Description

Knit your own Side-to-Side Dickey using these clearly-written instructions by knitwear designer Jackie E-S of HeartStrings FiberArts. The dickey is a practical accessory suitable for the whole family and easy to knit, too.

Side-to-Side Dickey is made starting at one shoulder of the yoke and is worked in stockinette stitch with moss stitch borders across the front and back sections to the other shoulder. Stitches for the turtleneck are then picked up along the yoke neckline and knit in ribbing.

Variegated yarn works up especially nicely in the Side-to-Side Dickey, showing off the yarn's colors as vertical stripes in the yoke played off horizontal striped ribbing in the collar.
