Story reads:
The Story of the Godmother Mirror
A baby was born, and a mother and father said a prayer of thanks for their joyous gift from God. They could not imagine a deeper love, and holding their new baby was a moment of a lifetime. The mother and father promised their baby unconditional love, faithfulness, guidance and protection. They committed to share the gifts and the way of the Lord. As the baby grew in their life and in their hearts, the mother and father chose to ask one special woman to be their child’s godmother. They wanted a godmother who deeply loved them, their child and God. This special woman joyously accepted the parent’s invitation, and so began a wonderful journey. One memorable day, a beautiful mirror was given to the Godmother along with a letter….a heartfelt reflection on life and love.
Letter reads:
Dear Godmother,
When you look in this mirror, see what I see….God’s gift to me.
When I look at you, I will always see faith, grace and love. I see the love you have given me from the day I was born. I see the grace in which you accepted an invitation to share God’s promises with me, and I see faith as you have kept me in your prayers and in your life. As you carry this mirror with you, reflect on how much I love you and how blessed I am to call you …my Godmother.
