Educational Information
Ankylosaurus was the dinosaur equivalent of a battle tank – heavily armored from head to tail. It was among the very last and largest of the ankylosaurs, or armored dinosaurs. The main defensive weapon of this slow-moving plant-eater was the bony club at the end of its tail. When it swung this tail club, Ankylosaurus could break the legs or shatter the ribs of attacking meat-eaters.
