Educational Information
One of the largest meat-eating land animals of all time, Tyrannosaurus rex lived in warm, humid forests and plains in what is now the Rocky Mountain region of the United States and Canada. Other dinosaurs must have scattered when they saw this gigantic meat-eater approaching with its jaws agape, showing its fearsome array of spike-like teeth. Its powerful tail counterbalanced the great weight of the head of Tyrannosaurus, indicating that the animal held its body horizontally as it walked. Perhaps the most unusual feature of T. rex is its tiny, two-clawed forelimbs. How these may have been used is still a mystery.
