Educational Information
Deinosuchus is one of the largest crocodilians that has ever lived. Although it is known only from incomplete fossils, it is estimated that large adults may have measured the length of a bus and weighed as much as a pair of elephants. Deinosuchus lived in North America near the end of the Mesozoic Era, or Age of Dinosaurs, by the shores of warm, shallow seas. A voracious meat-eater, this gigantic animal is thought to have included dinosaurs among its prey.
