Stalwart Left Right Socks Pattern

Knit your own Stalwart Socks using these clearly-written instructions by knitwear designer Jackie E-S of HeartStrings FiberArts.

As the name implies, these Stalwart Socks are designed to be extra strong and robust. A linen/merino blend yarn is recommended – the linen for strength and sturdy wearability; the merino for wearable cushioned softness.

These socks have added features for wearing comfort by conforming to the shape of the ankle and toes. The handsome textured knit/purl diagonal block stitch pattern transitions into ribbing at back of leg for an ankle-hugging fit and the toes have left and right shaping.

Sized for women's medium (men's large). Sport or DK weight yarn, 325(400) yards. 7 stitches/inch, size US 2 / 2.75 mm needles suggested. Sample socks were knitted with Louet Merlin Sport, color Cloud Grey. Charted and written stitch instructions.
