In our ongoing pursuit of collaborating with artists, musicians, DJs and bands, Globe has gotten together with an artist who we feel is truly of the moment, original and representative of where street art is headed. His name is Sekure D and he is one of Australia's burgeoning new artists taking his penchant for grafitti art and applying it to the canvas of shoe construction.
Sekure-D is now a well-known designer in Australia. Growing up surrounded by a culture that didn't encourage his art, Sekure covertly practiced his works for years before being contracted to coordinate the interior design and painting of various basketball and hip-hop shops within Melbourne.
|
His work began with web graphics and custom signatures, which enabled him to develop an attention to detail and patience, required in the field of clothing customization, Being a dedicated collector of rare footwear, Sekure-D formed an appreciation of the importance of style, uniqueness and quality of finish critical for a shoe to outlast current fashion and to surpass common trends or fads.
Untamed by theme or style, Sekure-D blends graphics, symbols, and text within an underlying current of street art to craft a design of lasting integrity.
He has work on display at the National Gallery Victoria Exhibition in Melbourne.
Sekure-D has said, "The final acheivement for any sneaker customizer would be to one day work for a leading footwear company." Globe is proud to be the partner in this collaboration and announce the Globe Limited Edition Sekure-D shoe. |
