Description
This large single cell bat house features:
- Exterior grade lumber. Except for the back plywood panel, it is constructed of popular, a furniture grade hardwood, which turns a light grey when left to weather.
- The interior back surface is covered with an extra heavy duty vinyl coated screen which is both stapled and glued in place. This screening provides excellent gripability and maneuverability for the bats inside.
- The large overall size, 13 1/2" Wide x 23 1/2" Tall x 4" Deep, houses up to approx. 200 bats.
- The inside chamber is 7/8" deep, accommodating all of the most common bats found in North America.
- Except for the back panel and roof, which are removable for cleaning, all of the joints are both glued and stapled to insure years of use.
- The roof is slanted for water runoff. It has a front ventilation gap to provide desired ventilation and temperature control and it has an extra long screened landing surface.
To enhance the outdoor appearance and durability of our bat houses, each board is left slightly rough and thicker than standard boards and natural edges are left when possible.
