This luxurious blend of 75% Merino wool and 25% silk lends itself beautifully to felting very fine fabrics. Wool and silk are naturally attracted to each other, thus, the silk in this top acts as a bonding agent to the wool when felted. This creates a more durable felt, and as a result, allows you to felt fabrics that are so light they float in the air, yet are very strong and can withstand everyday wear. The width of the pencil roving is just perfect for creating striped fabrics or for detail work on pieces with an In-Silk top base. In-Silk Pencil roving is individually packaged in 50 gram bags.
