The snare wire for a 14" W.F. Ludwig Concert snare drum with 3 screw mounting has 16 strands, an overall length of 15 3/4", and a strand length of 14 7/8" (including the soldered area on each end-plate). One end plate has a centered 3/16" hole, while the other end plate has two 3/16" holes spaced 1 inch on center, all used to attach the snare wire unit to the strainer frame via 3 screws.
