The snare wire for a 14" Pearl Jupiter snare drum has 16 strands, an overall length of 16 1/2", and a strand length of 15 5/8" (including the soldered area on each end-plate). Each end plate has a centered 7/32" hole in the center for attachment of the snare wire unit to the strainer via 2 screws. Puresound's Vintage Series snare wires are designed not only to replace worn and no longer available wires on vintage snares, they are also designed to enhance the performance of those classic drums. |
