| A modern version of an original D’Addario product offered in the ‘70s, EXP Reds use a proprietary outer wrap wire made of copper coated steel which is then micro-coated utilizing D’Addario’s EXP technology. Like a standard electric bass guitar string, the outer wire is highly magnetic, but the copper coating imparts a more “acoustic” tone on basses with magnetic and/or piezo pickups. The EXP coating also protects the windings from corrosion and premature wear. | |
