The purpose of an audio system's master fuse is to protect the vehicle from fire in the event that the fused power wire is damaged in a collision or via accidental short-circuit. A cheap quality fuse will not only degrade your system performance by creating excessive resistance in your power wire, but it can also be a safety hazard if it is inaccurately rated. JL Audio ANL (large blade) and AFS (small blade) fuses are built to strict standards and are designed to maintain low resistance under your hood.
