Balega is a proud American - South African initiative. Our focus is on the specialist independent running market. Although our products are relatively new to the US, our socks have been designed and race proven over many years. Balega prides itself on the fact that all of our products are race developed and tested at our South African production facility. Our development team is made up of genuine athletes who regularly compete in events such as the Comrades and Two Ocean’s ultra marathons as well as many other shorter distance events both on and off road. All Balega socks are manufactured at our state-of-the-art production facility in Cape Town, South Africa, utilizing the best raw materials available. Our customers are serviced via our sales, warehouse and distribution facility in Hickory, NC. We are passionate about our products and believe that their performance and fit characteristics make them unique to the US market and offer real benefits to athletes of all ages and abilities. All of our running socks incorporate a hand linked SEAMLESS TOE, eliminating abrasion across the top of the foot. We also knit an extra deep heel pocket or ‘Fit Well’ ensuring that our socks fit the foot perfectly and don’t slide down during a run. We offer both cushion and non-cushion socks, all of which utilize our own ‘DryNamix’ moisture management technology.
